Community rules
ndt.network works when people can ask a basic question without being mocked and trust what they read. These rules apply to posts, jobs, company listings and profiles.
Be useful and be decent
- Criticise the idea, never the person. No harassment, threats, slurs or personal attacks.
- Everyone started as a trainee. Answer the question or leave it.
- Say how you know what you know. "My procedure says" and "I think" are both fine; just be clear which.
Safety posts
- A moderator reads every post in the safety category before it appears.
- Never advise anyone to get around a dosimeter, an interlock, a survey, a permit or a license condition.
- If someone may have been hurt or exposed, the answer is to stop and call the Radiation Safety Officer or emergency services, not to ask a forum.
Standards and copyright
- Standards and books are copyrighted. Name the clause and put it in your own words. A sentence or two is fine; pages aren't.
- Don't share or ask for pirated standards, exam questions or answer keys.
Keep it out of the forum
- Client names tied to findings, confidential drawings or reports.
- Anything controlled by export rules (ITAR, EAR) or marked as controlled unclassified information.
- Other people's private details.
Advertising in the forum
Ask and answer as yourself, and say so if you work for the company you mention. Don't advertise in posts: the company directory and job board are free.
Jobs
- Only real, open jobs, posted by the employer or a recruiter with authority to post them.
- No charging applicants, ever. That includes "training fees", "uniform deposits" and "certification fees" taken before work starts.
- Don't ask for bank details, card details, or ID before an offer.
- Follow equal-opportunity and pay-disclosure law where the work is.
- Applicants: a job that asks you for money isn't a job. Report it.
Company listings
Add only a company you work for or represent. State only accreditations you hold today. If your company has been listed by someone else, report the listing and tell us.
What moderators do
Moderators can hold, hide or edit posts for format, lock or move threads, and mute or ban members. Your first three posts are read before they appear, and links and some words are held for a look. If several established members report a post, it's hidden until a moderator reviews it. If you think a decision is wrong, email contact@ndt.llc.
